Thank you Jim. You are so right. Too many of us take our democracy for granted by believing that democracy is easily maintained. It is not. Rather than being a strong, permanent fortress, our democracy is a living, fluid idea, maintained by our careful and constant guardianship. Sadly, over the last few decades, we neglected our responsibility and now, we are moving ever closer to losing it for good.

But we still have time to reclaim the democracy our founders envisioned for us. We just need to relearn how to be better guardians. The time is now. Let’s roll.

The need to celebrate our constitution and democracy this July 4th has never been more urgent. In addition to picnics, fireworks, parades and concerts in the park, we must take time to think about what’s happening to our country and heed Ben Franklin’s words - “ if we can keep it”.

Yes, Marylee. And on that special day, we should all make a solemn pledge to say, “Yes. We WILL keep it.”

You can use existing laws to thwart imposters. Know your civil rights. Request IDs, request to see warrants, refuse to speak to suspicious people, refuse to give information to imposters. If you suspect that ICE “officers” are fakes, call the police and report them for impersonating officers.

Thank you Mr Jones for this well thought out message, This 4th of July 2025, OUR USA Citizens Hopefully Recognize the Peril and Turmoil that is ONLY JUST GETTING STARTED, I am Copying and Pasting a Paragraph of your, post that we are WITNESSING the LOSS of;

*******Some of the substantial powers granted to Congress were specifically intended to limit the arbitrary actions identified in the 27 grievances of the Declaration. Congress, not the President, would have the power to control the nation’s purse strings, to set taxes and tariffs, to regulate foreign and domestic commerce, to organize a militia and set rules for utilizing it, to provide for our national defense, to declare war, and to enact a wide variety of laws “necessary and proper” for the “general Welfare of the United States.”*********

In Less than 6 Months, this Regime has Disregarded, What Presidents have Upheld all of My 70 plus Years of Life, Including "Tricky Dick Nixon" Actions.

I have Great Hope and Faith in the UNITED STATES People and Their Dismay, Frustration, and DISGUST at what the Majority are Seeing and Witnessing in all 3 Branches, Executive, Legislative, and Disturbingly the JUDICIARY.

Alligator Alcatraz, TRUMPS Remarks, and What Happens to Those INTURNED in that Chain Link Concentration Camp When the STORMS OVERWHELM IT? It is not "IF" it is WHEN !

Thanks Mr. Jim Jones for your service to this country! And for the timely history reminder. I don’t think they are teaching this in small rural public schools anymore but they should be! Mr. Jones, you were a state Supreme Court justice, may I ask what is going on with this Supreme Court? I’m losing faith in them the more they seemingly side with Trump.
