I do think it’s interesting the same people who are offended by Dan made excuses for “Grab ‘em by the *****”.

The christian nationalists (small "c" intentional) are all about "My Jesus can beat up your Jesus." There is nothing remotely resembling the teachings of Jesus in their rhetoric - actually, _they_ are more anti- ("anti" defined as "opposite of") Christian if you compare their rhetoric to the words and teachings in the New Testament.

Thank you for speaking the truth about the hypocrisy being displayed, it’s running rampant all over the country!! The Speaker immediately comes to mind.

The Bible even states that not all who call him Father are his children (paraphrasing). The extreme right, like most fascists will use Christianity as a weapon, just like using illegal immigrants or others that are easily targeted as scapegoats. They may call themselves, Christians, but it doesn't make them so. To be Christian, is to be Christ-like, not authoritarian.

Glad I don't live up north. I've seen to much already from up there. Looks like KKK thrives up there. Christian Nationalists are dangerous. Isn't that what Dorothy Moon advocates for?

Every interaction I have ever had with Dan was good. I am so very happy for him and his win.

Once the far right starts criticizing someone for supposedly being anti-Christian, it means that their argument has run out of steam. Then that’s it - I’m out!

I found a similar theological discussion in a November 9 submission by Rayne“Yet More of a Lapsed Catholic’s Bible Study” at: [emptywheel.net].
