We don't need either one of them. No more people who follow Trump's ideology. Or IFF

Well said, Becky! This whole “elected by representation” argument is being bunk.

Steve Moore's avatar

Interesting that you say it's bunk. Yet the process goes on every day in government.

Becky, I don't disagree with your accurate description of Dorothy Moon, a power hungry, record spending against the GOP State Committee. On the other hand Brad Little has drifted from the peoples' GOP to a MAGA GOP. In the 2024 SOS ,message, he said a $100,000 tax cut would work. He signed early in the session the largest tax cut in state history. He also signed HB 93 also early in the session. Both these bills were signed before JFAC began setting budgets. Little has joined the Project 2025 crusade on immigration using ISP and Idaho National Guard to assist ICE and its masked never identified where US citizens are detained. Little signed the Medicaid rules change law putting legitimate hard working families at risk of losing health insurance because of bureaucratic red tape and expanding state government by hiring 3 more DHW employees to process the paper work. Oops, too much spent, too big a tax cut, Little had to order agencies to cut their budgets by 3%. Yup, Little isn't the practical GOP governor when he was first elected. He's lost his way. The IFF, KCRC couldn't be happier.

I have known Dorothy for 20 years, she is an attention seeking loser.

Gov. Little appears as the voice of reason when compared with Ms. Moon, but not when he is compared with “real” moderate Republicans, e.g. former A.G. and Supreme Court Justice Jim Jones.

Yes let's take a look at what Brad little has not done that isn't in the best interest of ALL idahoans.

Specific issues cited by critics include:

Healthcare Access (besides abortion): He signed the "Medical Discrimination Bill" (HB 59), which allows healthcare providers to refuse care based on personal or religious beliefs. Critics argue this bill is intentionally vague and could limit access to various health services, including birth control.

Education Funding: Critics have raised concerns about his handling of school funding, arguing that his administration prioritizes other areas, such as tax cuts for private education, over solving public education problems. He signed a bill that allows for a tax credit for private education and tuition costs.

Tax Cuts: He has approved significant annual revenue reductions from tax cuts and credits, which critics argue benefit big business and the wealthy more than average citizens.

Deregulation: Little has made significant efforts to cut "red tape" and reduce state regulations, eliminating or simplifying 95% of state regulations since 2019. While his administration hails this as a success for efficiency, critics may argue this weakens important oversight in various sectors.

Immigration: He has promoted initiatives such as "Operation No Return," which focused on removing dozens of "dangerous illegal alien criminals" from Idaho communities, using emergency funds from his office. This has drawn criticism from immigrant advocacy groups and civil liberties organizations.

Veto of Medical Freedom Act: Little vetoed a bill that would have banned businesses and government entities from requiring medical interventions (like vaccines) for employment or entry into venues. This drew criticism from those who support "medical freedom" and oppose mandates.

"Baby Olivia Bill": He signed a bill that mandates the use of materials, including the "Baby Olivia" video, in schools that contain unscientific claims about fetal development. Critics, including Planned Parenthood, argue this promotes "disinformation" and "ideology over science" in public education.

I can't support anyone who bows down to Trump's demands like Brad Little does.

Well done, Becky. Integrity is the key. One person is in power because of a rigorous electoral process where the will of Idahoans was fairly and accurately expressed. The other only gained power through hook and crook, cheating, bullying, lying and deception.

Dorothy Moon and the members of her tribe are more interested in swaggering around Boise, pretending to be true Republicans, rather than actually BEING true Republicans.

They’ve earned quite a reputation for themselves - and it’s not a good one.

Steve Moore's avatar

Why Becky don't you tell a truthful story? Both Little and Moon were elected through the ballot box. One was elected directly and the other by representation. PC's are elected through the ballot box, who elect the folks that went to the convention. Those folks voted to elect the chair in full view of the whole convention. No back room deals, in front of anyone that wanted to come and watch the proceedings! So why do you lie Becky!

Another point, when did Moon shut down businesses? Little did during covid. When has Moon grown Idaho government? Little has over his tenure!! Causing we the taxpayer to pay more and more taxes to keep his executive branch open and staffed. When did Moon sent ISP to arrest a minister holding an outdoor prayer? Oh yes that was Little as well. Little is more of the authority figure than Moon ever has been.

Let’s not call Dorothy Moon a republican. She’s a fascist. Just like trump. And Brad Little is moving in that direction.

Jake Chapple's avatar

Dorothy Moon all day, every day, every time. The Brad Otters and Butch Littles can watch their RINO horns grow from the sidelines and comedically wrong Substacks.

Oh good Lord, another ignorant Idaho White Supremacist spouting off.

Gregory Graf's avatar

It sounds like you may be commenting here in bad faith. I'd appreciate it if you added some value to the conversation rather than spouting IFF/IFC propaganda talking points.

Steve Moore's avatar

Bad faith Greg??? Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black. It's a well known fact there are many democrats hiding in the republican party. So do we promote the democratic wing of the Republican party or tear down the ones that hold Republican values? It seems that both are happening and this is not correct.

Will you let this stand or will you act like party watch and block?

Peggy Fahy's avatar

There are no “Democrats hiding in the Republican Party.” What’s really happened is that the Traditional GOP has been infiltrated and hijacked by such far-right extremists that the true and REAL conservatives who have the sane and moderate voices are attacked and vilified by the fucking MAGA extremists. And it’s all been a very strategic and deliberate campaign over the course of the last decade in the MAGA movements ground war to end democracy.

Frederick J Frahm's avatar

Maybe Democrats are hiding in the Republican Party, but they do not need some pretend commissar’s permission to vote for whoever they like. Think of it as expanding the electorate—bringing new DNA.

Steve Moore's avatar

It's a well know fact Peggy, because Idaho is basically a Republican State if a democrat wanted to be elected to an office, he or she would need to put an R behind their name and they would. Heck there is a Youtube video from 2022 where the Senator from District 8, standing on the capitol steps said that. There are many more hiding in the party and you see them by their actions. When they can't/wont follow the basic Republican values of limited government, limited taxation with personal freedom and responsibility, they are not a Republican.

Just what is a "true and Real conservative"? Is it one that can't pass up a bill to add to the government, tax you out of your home and make you dependent on the government for your daily living? Or is it one that wants government to live by the US Constitution and the Idaho Constitution, giving a small and limited government just enough to do it's constitutionally set duties, including following existing laws?

Lastly, we are NOT a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic!

Frederick J Frahm's avatar

I do not agree with your “republic” comment even though “republic” implies representation of the populace in some form. To make the matter crystal clear, we are a representative democracy in which the citizens directly elect our legislature and indirectly elect the President. Do not get me started on the different value of each vote in Senate and Presidential elections.

Peggy Fahy's avatar

Right on Frederick! You explained it perfectly!
